Tu Jaane Na Guitar Lesson

The guitar lesson on Tu Jaane Na is brought by Mike Walker, who explains all the guitar parts of the song, section by section. The initial sections talk about the chords and rhythm patterns of the song, and in the sections that follow, there is discussion about the individual overdubbed guitar part, finally rounding the lesson with a solo improvisation demonstration.

The song is in the key of A major and features all but the diminished chords from the scale. There is also a suspended version of the A and D major, as well as a unique F#m7 11 chord, which is only in the intro section of the song that involves picking. The tutor explains the intro section in great detail.

Since this is a very acoustic forward song, there is a unique strumming pattern that is different from the standard DUU DUU DUDU, and goes like –D - U D U D - U - D (D is a downward strum and U is an upward strum). This folk-style strumming gives the song a stable rhythm and moves it forward.

There is also an easy version of the chords that the instructor demonstrates in the latter sections of the lesson. There is also an improvisation section, the ideas of which are based on the F#minor pentatonic and the A major scale up the fretboard.

Welcome to the guitar lesson on one of the most emotional title tracks to come out of Bollywood in the last decade — Sanam Teri Kasam. Composed by Himesh Reshammiya and sung by Ankit Tiwari and Palak Muchhal, this song belongs to the 2016 film Sanam Teri Kasam, directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru. It tells the story of Inder, a man with a broken past, and Saru, a woman rejected by her own family. Their journey from complete strangers to soulmates is carried forward by the lyrics written by Sameer Anjaan, and this title track captures that entire journey.

The guitar theme by Vivek Verma is one of the standout parts of the soundtrack and plays as a kind of emotional thread that pulls the whole film together. In fact, this theme has become so iconic that it returned to the big screen in the film’s re-release in February 2025. Even years later, people still remember this song not just for its melody, but for how deeply it made them feel.

Sanam Teri Kasam – Guitar Lesson

This lesson is taught by Steve Luciano, and he takes you through the entire track step by step, in a way that’s easy to understand even if you’re not a music theory expert. The song is in the key of C minor, and it has a mix of simple and emotionally rich chords, including Cm, G/B, Eb, Bb/F, Ab, and Bb. These chords create a blend of tension and release, which matches the emotional highs and lows in the song’s storyline.

One interesting chord you’ll play is Bb/F, a slash chord, where the bass note is not the root of the chord. That F in the bass changes the mood of the chord slightly, adding a deeper colour to an otherwise familiar sound. Steve explains this in a way that even beginners can follow, breaking down the fingering and showing how these changes affect the overall feel of the song.

What also stands out in this lesson is how Steve pays attention to not just the chords but the phrasing and mood. The strumming is soft and patient more like painting with sound than just playing rhythm. He also shows how you can play along with the original recording, even suggesting how to simplify some of the chord shapes if you're still getting comfortable with barre chords. Whether you’re looking to perform the song or just play it in your room for yourself, this lesson gives you all the tools to do justice to it.

Pashmina – Introduction

Welcome to the guitar lesson on one of the most delicately composed love songs in Hindi cinema — Pashmina by Amit Trivedi, from the 2016 film Fitoor. The song is a soft, poetic track that floats between romance and melancholy, wrapped in layers of orchestration and Amit Trivedi's unique singing style. The film itself was an adaptation of Charles Dickens' Great Expectations, and Pashmina works as a musical expression of the complex emotions in the story.

The word Pashmina refers to an extremely fine wool from Kashmir, and in the song, it becomes a metaphor for love — soft, rich, intricate, and fragile. The lyrics, written by Swanand Kirkire, are as layered as the melody, bringing out that sense of a love that can’t be held too tightly, or it will slip away. The song has been compared by some to western tracks like California by Phantom Planet, but Pashmina stands on its own because of the way it mixes classical Indian textures with modern songwriting.

Pashmina – Guitar Lesson

This is an easy acoustic version of Pashmina, taught by Mike Walker, with the goal of helping beginner players fall in love with the guitar just as much as they love the song. The version is played with a capo on the 5th fret, which raises the pitch to match the original recording, while keeping the chord shapes extremely simple and familiar.

The chords used are Am, D, Em, F, C, and G — all open chords, which means if you know your basics, you’ll be able to play this version comfortably. Mike goes over every chord change and voicing with clear instructions, making this lesson feel very hands-on.

The progression flows in a way that lets the emotional content of the song shine through. The use of Am and Em, both minor chords, gives the song a slightly wistful tone, while G and C open up the resolution at the right moments.

The chord changes follow the original mood of the track, but are simplified to make it more accessible. Even the F chord, which can be tricky for beginners, is demonstrated with alternate fingerings and techniques so that anyone can play it with enough practice.

The strumming pattern is relaxed and meant to match the fluid movement of the melody. There’s no pressure to play it fast — in fact, slowing it down helps bring out the beauty of the song. Mike also talks about how to let your fingers move smoothly between chords and how to make the transitions sound clean without breaking the rhythm. You’ll also learn how to use dynamics — like playing softer or louder — to really bring out the emotion in different sections of the song.
